Tillandsia duratii is native to Central and South America and is one of the more drought-tolerant and hardy varieties of air plants. The duratii is also one of the few tillandsias that will produce fragrant flowers when it blooms.
The T. duratii thrives under a range of light, water, and temperature conditions. When water and light are in abundance, the duratii can grow very large with less curl to its leaves. If you like the look of the more curly duratii plant, you can cut back on how much you water the plant.
These unique plants can be displayed hanging or mounted for a striking display. Over time they will develop into a nice clump that with proper conditions will last for many years.
